GoFundMe Account
PTAC has created a GoFundMe account to off-set the legal costs associated with challenging the unacceptable treatment of physiotherapy candidates in Canada. In September, when the GoFundMe was launched, PTAC hired a law firm to do preliminary legal research to ascertain if our profession can find a legal remedy for a) our licensure crisis and b) for the damages our residents have endured over 2 years. This research has led us to conclude that our best course of action is to launch a class action lawsuit against the Ontario regulatory bodies, which we hope to file by April. We feel that this will give us leverage to try to change the licensing process with the College and potentially recover damages for residents who have lost wages in the past two years.
